With the powerful fans that computers and servers are fitted with, dust has become a real problem. Dust clogs up the fans and heat sinks. If ignored, they will become impossible to remove. This dust can then cause equipment to overheat because of the disrupted airflow due to the dust. Overheating equipment will first appear very sluggish and will perform tasks much slower. Then finally one day the equipment will break down completely. This is also where system maintenance comes into play.
